I’m interested! How does it work?
After you contact us, we will ask you for a photo of the house. From the photo, we can provide an estimate for whichever services you are interested in. If you're comfortable with our estimate, we will schedule a consultation.
During the consultation, we will take measurements, show you the products we use, and provide a written quote.Once you decide what options you would like to go with, we will schedule an installation date. Our trained installers will put up your display, and set it all to a timer - you do not have to be home during the installation. The service doesn't end once we leave though! We continue to maintain the installation up until Christmas Eve, so that everything continues to look great. In the new year, we will schedule a removal date, and safely store your lights for the following year.
Do you charge for quotes?
No. We provide free, no obligation quotes.
How is A Greener View different than other companies offering to hang my lights?
While we can't speak for other companies, we can tell you that when you hire A Greener View, you are hiring a registered, insured, professional company. We are not a handyman service with a truck and a ladder. Our trained installers are fall arrest and ladder safety certified, and have been installing Christmas lights for many years throughout Central Ontario and the GTA.
Is there a difference between your lights and what I can buy in stores?
Yes. We only use the highest quality, commercial-grade lights and greenery. You cannot find our products in big box stores. All of our products are customized specifically for your property, providing a perfect installation and display.
Who owns the lights? Do I rent them?
You own the lights. They are yours to keep, even if down the road you decide not to continue with our service. The purchase cost is included in your quote, making year one the "investment year". This means your re-installation cost next year is significantly less.
The benefit to this, is that you are investing in high-quality products that you cannot get in stores. Unlike some companies who charge expensive rental fees, we prefer that our customers get more value for their money, and get to keep their investment.
Our LED lights are rated for 50,000-60,000 hours, so with our proper maintenance and storage, they will continue to enhance your Christmas year after year.
How much do you charge for storage?
We offer "all-inclusive" pricing. Your storage is included with the service.
Can you just put up the lights I already have?
In some cases, we will try our best to work with your existing lights, if they are of commercial quality from a previous company.
We do not offer any warranty or guarantee on any lights that we don't supply.
How much is it going to cost?
We offer options for almost every budget. Since personal tastes and house dimensions can vary greatly, your price will be based on your specific property and selected options. Packages usually start at around $750.00
I have a very large tree. Can you put lights on it?
Absolutely, we love accenting house lights with tree lighting! They enhance the look of your display and will definitely make you the talk of the neighbourhood.
Lots of lights are needed to properly wrap a very large tree, so 25 ft to 50 ft evergreen trees can cost anywhere from $1000 to $3000+ to professionally light the first year.
Can I store my own lights? Will it be cheaper?
We offer "all-inclusive" pricing. There is no discount if you choose to store your own lights.
We cannot offer warranty on lights we do not store each season.
If the LED lights last for up to 50,000 hours, can’t you just leave them up so I don’t have to pay each year?
No. While the diodes are rated for 50,000 hours, the wiring and connections are designed for seasonal use only.
Prolonged UV exposure degrades the components and can begin to cause malfunction in the lights.
We do not offer any warranty on lights that we do not remove and store each season.
Do we need an electrician?
Most likely no.
We require an exterior GFCI outlet to connect the display to. We will not connect the lights to an outlet inside a house or garage. While most houses have these, if you do not have an exterior outlet on your property, you will need to have one installed before we can complete the installation.
Do we need to be home for the installation?
No. Since all the work is on the exterior, you do not need to take time off work or rearrange your schedule for us.
Do you carry liability insurance?
Yes. We are fully insured. When you choose A Greener View, you are getting a professional service with properly trained installers.
